Dear parents, 9/29/14
there is a big change in homework this week. We are now making homework from Monday to Monday. We decided this will be helpful because both Kindergarten and Second grade have their packets due on mondays. Please keep in mind that sight word folders will still be due every friday and spelling tests will still be on fridays.
Please be sure to check this website at least once per week. Thank you!
We hate to keep mentioning the matter-but there are STILL parents in the hallway in the morning. If you need to speak to your teacher please do so on the blacktop. You don't need to make sure they get to class, hang their backpack, put their lunch in the basket, or take out their folder. We will help them with that. PLEASE DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR CHILD"S CLASS! Please stay out of the 30's and 40's wing altogether. If you are a parent helper, you must be wearing a volunteer sticker and have signed in at the front office. We are starting the fourth full week of school and this matter needs to be listened to and respected. Thank you.
Last week, Mrs. Burkholder asked parents to please keep the hallways clear. We are asking that parents please respect this and keep the entire 30 and 40 wings clear. This means that you MUST line your child up on the blacktop with their class before the 8:10 bell. When the bell rings, say your good-byes and then let their teacher take them from there. DO NOT pass the poles OR come from the end of the wing by room 34! DO NOT walk on the grass or follow your child's class to their classroom! Parents must stay on the blacktop only. We don't want to make a big deal of it when we are trying to help the students get unpacked and our mornings started, so we are asking that you follow these directions. The ONLY exceptions are those parents who are helping out in their child's class right as the bell rings. All other parents are expected to stay on the black-top. Please DO NOT sit at the blue tables, or watch from the grass. Some classes have to walk on the grass because the sidewalk is crowded with students. If you have something to ask your child's teacher either write a note or tell them on the blacktop. We feel like we have been as clear as can be and hope you will help us with this every morning so that
our days can get off to a great start. Thank you in advance.
**Please remind your child to use the restroom before school and at their recess and lunch times. Excessive restroom use disrupts classroom time and makes kids lose out on instruction. Thank you!**
**All classes will need your help, donations, and time in getting ready for the Fall Festival on Oct. 17th. This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for our school and it can't happen with you! Look for letters to come home and sign-ups on your classroom door or window. Thank you!
**We can't wait to see your child's memory book cover. Please securely glue down anything you put on it and make sure it is flat. We will be laminating them and so we can't have any 3d stickers or scrapbook embellishments on them. They are due by Friday, October 10th.
